My son Scott and I, have lived in Linden Woods since 1989 when our family built a house in the rapidly expanding neighbourhood. During that time I have been involved in the community in many ways. I have served as a two term President of the Linden Woods - Victoria Community Centre, Mini Soccer Convenor and Coach (8 years), Hall Rentals Contact and most recently help with the distribution of the Linden Words newsletter. Scott has attended both Van Walleghem and Linden Meadows School and has participated in the many recreation programs that the area offers.

The area has grown tremendously since it was first opened up in the early 1980's. We have seen a great deal of new roadways and commercial and retail development have matched the growth of the residential area. Key retailers in the area are Canadian Tire, Safeway, Wal-Mart and in 2011 or early 2012 we will see the addition of an IKEA to the area. Its proximity to the University of Manitoba as well as the Winnipeg International Airport and many other amenities have made this neighbourhood a destination of choice for many.
